COOPERATION WITH INDIANS

CULTURE, BUSINESS AND MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING

India is the largest English-speaking country in the world and a huge labor market. It has a population of 1.36 billion, and every year another 3.1 million graduates start their careers.

The country maintains its position as the preferred IT outsourcing destination – according to the site outsource2india for 80% of European and US companies, India is the number one choice in the outsourcing market. NASSCOM reported that nearly half of Fortune 500 companies have already chosen India for software development.

Due to the growing popularity of India, we have more and more contact with the representatives of this culture in the workplace. Mutual misunderstanding of expectations and values can create frustration and lead to problems in cooperation.

Training introduces our clients to Indian culture and is aimed at explaining values, the way of thinking as well as working practices of Indians.

A full day training program consists of:
• showing the dimensions of surface and deep culture through examples,
• presentation of business culture in India,
• discussing case studies and explaining any doubts,
• advice on cooperation in specific situations.

The course fully met my expectations. I learnt about the culture of India and about the Indian business culture.

I learnt how to communicate with Indians so that they understand us well and how to understand their expression.

The most useful parts were about the deep culture and advices concerning the communication with Indians. Both helped me understand the functioning of the Indian society. Knowing that it will be easier to communicate with our colleagues from Mumbai.

In the training it was possible to exchange experience in relation to the communication in the company, and to learn about practised methods – those that work, and those that it’s better to avoid.

I really liked the structure and the content of the training. Additional use of music, advertisements and videos was a great idea, not to mention delicious snacks.

The course lived up to my expectations with in-depth analysis of the culture of India, which allows to better prepare for building the cooperation with the Mumbai office.
